Rural tourism – development and promotion of rural cross-border hospitality 



·      To increase competitiveness in the rural cross-border  areas by creating a cooperation network among the operators of the rural tourism·      To improve the quality of rural tourism offer giving particular attention to hospitality of the rural cross-border tourism·      To develop and enhance the offer for hospitality and accommodation to favour tourists’ stay  ·      To complement farm tourism offer with the regional tourism overall offer ·      To diversify and deseasonalize rural tourism offer in the perspective of a sustainable tourism ·      To increase operators’ skills through targeted training programs ·      To boost the cooperation between regions and companies to favour tourist offer and stimulate the demand with the aim to reach a higher added value



The RURALNET project implements a set of concrete activities where the tourist operators are directly involved:

•    a survey on rural tourist offer, on the relations between the region and holiday farms and on their needs;

•    vademecum for the definition of the rural tourist offer keeping into consideration the strong and, above all, the weak points that have come out from the survey

•    15 educational programs for specialized operators developed according to the results of the survey that will be presented during the workshop of 27th May

•    9 activities based on the exchange and comparison among farm tourism operators

•    A Guide of cross-border tourist offer where the holiday farms of Treviso, Udine and Carinthia are presented (this guide will be written in Italian, German and English)

•    integration of web marketing campaigns to gain visibility, increase the

number of guests in the holiday farms and promote, among others,  the offer for accommodation and gastronomic hospitality

•    to promote proposals for experiential marketing involving tourist’s 5 senses so that the tourist can feel he’s part of the territory and report the experience to his friends.

•    cross-border tour packages with enhancement of the outstanding specialties and tastes of the partners’ regions

•    Participation to events aimed at promoting traditional specialties, tourist fairs and, above all,  events not linked to tourism/agricolture
